Simple Guide to Gmarket



Gmarket is Korean's version of eBay and has a wide variety of products. It provides a one-stop access to thousands of shops listed under Gmarket. As most of the text is in Korean, the site may be difficult to navigate to some. For those who are unfamiliar with how Gmarket works, I have provided some simple guidelines below.


1) Upon entering the main page and clicking onto your catagory of interest, this is the page you will see.

2) When visiting a particular shop, it is important to check if the seller does international shipping.

Individual shop

Item name and code (if available) are usually stated above or on the product image itself (refer to link). This will be what to look out for when selecting your desired items from the drop-down menu. For some products, there will be an additional pop-up window when you click it that displays more images and additional information. This will then be the item URL that is required when filling up the order form. Otherwise, a printscreen of the item is required.

For those who experience difficulty in identifying their item-of-interest from the drop-down menu, This may help.

3) When deciding on an item, it is important to note that prices stated on the top of the site might not be the actual price of a particular item. As Gmarket only allows sellers to list all their items under a single fixed price, some items might cost more than the fixed price stated. This discrepancy in the price comes in the form of an 'option price' as indicated in the drop-down menu. Therefore, total price of an item will be that of the fixed price +option price. Furthermore, some sellers charge a flat rate of 2500 Won for domestic shipping to Gmarket (which can be shared if multiple items are purchased from the same seller). To get an estimate of the total cost of your items (excluding international shipping fee), please do a mock check-out.
